Elaine Lipka's history-making role

Elaine Xydis Lipka

Few people can say that they truly made a big difference in history; a difference that absolutely changed the way that history unfolded. A difference that will forever be prominently amid the history books. But Elaine Xydis Lipka can say that. She made a massive difference to the presidential history of the United States of America, and yet hardly anyone knows who she is or what she contributed.

In the 1990s, as the rest of the world watched with intrigue, Lipka made pivotal moves in the case against and inevitable prosecution of then-President Bill Clinton. She was a member of a special FBI team that worked under Special Prosecutor Ken Starr as he investigated Clinton's relationship with then-intern Monica Lewinksy. Elaine Lipka was the first FBI agent to review the comprehensive, quite extensive tapes of conversations between Lewinsky and Linda Tripp. Those 22 tapes and Lipka's work to analyze them led to the prosecution and eventual impeachment of President Clinton.

Even if not many people know or understand how crucial Lipka's work was toward making this happen with the 42nd President of the United States, she is undoubtedly a difference maker and significant contributor toward the outcome. That outcome will live throughout history.
